Austria and Slovenia connected safely- that is the short version of the result from the modernization of the entire automation environment in the Karawanken tunnel. The tunnel is located on the highway A11 in Carinthia, the project was realizes together with our Partner Dürr Austria. A replacement of hardware components and a new network concept as well as a new concept for the traffic control system led to the latest standards in these areas not only due to the multi-language capability of XAMControl.

As a strategic partner the German Dürr Group took the majority stake in evon Gmbh via her 100% daugther company, the Dürr Austria Gmbh.

“Safety First for the Carinthian street tunnels” – following that policy the project “ÜZ Klagenfurt” was realized together with  Cegelec GmbH.The result: one central control system was designed with XAMControl in the central control room of ASFING in Klagenfurt. More than 25000 data points have to be monitored and managed by the system to operate the non-highway street tunnels in Carinthia.

Location: Europe’s largest city spa resort Oberlaa in Vienna

The Task: Retrofit the existing control system by a new one based on XAMControl including water conditioning, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) within one week end- without extended holidays.

Where is energy consumed in a ventilation system? What can be done to optimize the consumption? These central questions where the initial ignitions for the modernization of the automation system with a clear goal: to save energy.

Celgelec GmbH counts on XAMControl for the realization of the control system at Linienberg-tunnel, Carinthia. The tunnel is located at the new bypass Völkermarkt (B82) with a length of 1300m.

The work is proceeding fast to ensure the start up by April 2010.The cooperation with the authorities of Carinthia is intense to secure a modern, easy-to-use and intuitive control concept for the operator to guarantee a simple, quick and save operating environment.
